How do you stop ads in mobile games?
Match the fix to the ad: ignore rewarded "watch an ad" buttons, use Airplane Mode for games that run offline, and pay once for Remove Ads only in a game you will keep. There is no single switch on iPhone that removes ads from every game.
Picture it. Your run ends at 17. You reach for Play Again and a full-screen ad gets there first, thirty seconds of a game you will never install. Then you die again. Then another ad. That loop is what this page is about, and most of the time it has a cheap fix.
Ads are how most free games pay for themselves; the trick is choosing which ones you put up with.

How do I stop ads in mobile games on iPhone?
Three fixes cover most games: buy the game's one-time Remove Ads purchase if it has one, play offline-capable games in Airplane Mode, or switch to a game whose App Store page says it has no ads. Rewarded "watch an ad" buttons can simply be ignored.
Does Airplane Mode stop ads in games?
Often, but not always. Many ads are fetched over the internet, so a game that runs offline may show fewer of them. Some games keep ads they already downloaded, and some refuse to start without a connection. Try one session and see.
Do ad blockers work in iPhone games?
Not the ones in the App Store's Safari section. Apple describes Safari extensions as a way to customize the way your browser works, so they act in Safari, not inside a game. VPN and DNS-based blockers exist, but they route your traffic through someone else and can break games that need a connection.
If I buy Remove Ads, will it come back on a new phone?
Usually, if it is a non-consumable purchase. Apple says you might be able to restore a non-consumable purchase and that you can't restore consumable purchases such as game currency. Look for a Restore button in the game's store or settings.
Why do free games have so many ads?
Because the game is free to download and the ads pay for it. Some games also sell a way out, a one-time purchase or a subscription. Check the In-App Purchases list on the App Store page before you install.
Does Fluxo have ads?
Yes. The free version has house-ad breaks, and the game-over screen offers optional watch-an-ad buttons for a revive or double gold, as the App Store screenshots show. Optional one-time purchases are listed on the App Store: Remove Ads ($2.99) and Premium ($4.99), which includes no house-ad breaks.
What is a house ad?
An ad a developer runs for its own apps or offers, instead of one sold through an ad network. It still interrupts play; it is just in-house.
Can Screen Time block game ads?
No. Screen Time is built to limit apps, websites and purchases. It has no setting for ads inside a game.

The three kinds of game ads, and which fix fits
- Full-screen breaks between rounds. The ones that hurt. Airplane Mode or a Remove Ads purchase.
- Rewarded ads behind a "watch ad" button for a revive or coins. Optional by design: skip the button and nothing plays.
- Banners along the edge of the screen. Annoying, rarely blocking. Often removed by the same Remove Ads purchase, if the listing says so.

Honest limits
We make Fluxo, and it has ads, so here is exactly what the App Store page lists. The free game has house-ad breaks and optional watch-an-ad buttons. Optional purchases: Remove Ads ($2.99), Premium ($4.99, one-time: 2x gold, free revives, no house-ad breaks and the Golden Fluxo pilot) and gold packs ($0.99 and $2.99). No subscription. The full game is playable free.
Gold packs are consumable, so by Apple's rules they cannot be restored. Remove Ads and Premium are the kind you buy once.
05
Who Fluxo is not for
If any ad at all ruins a game for you and you will not pay a few dollars, pick a game whose listing says "no ads" and lists no Remove Ads purchase. We also make puzzle games with no ads at all; they are linked at the bottom of this page. Fluxo is for players who want a fast one-tap run and are fine with breaks, or with paying once to drop them.

Where the ads live in Fluxo

- Revive, watch ad: optional. Skip it and tap Retry.
- x2 Gold, watch ad: optional, same deal.
- Go Premium: the one-time purchase that drops house-ad breaks.

Your five-minute fix list
| Fix | Time | Cost | Stops |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ignore rewarded buttons | 1 sec | Free | Watch-an-ad rewards |
| Airplane Mode for a session | 10 sec | Free | Many network ads, offline games only |
| One-time Remove Ads purchase | 2 min | A few dollars | Ads the purchase lists |
| Restore a past purchase | 1 min | Free | Non-consumables on a new phone |
| Switch to a no-ads game | 5 min | Free or paid | All of them |
| Safari ad blocker | n/a | Varies | Websites, not games |
A design decision we made: Fluxo's Play Again restarts instantly, and its Zen mode has no wipeouts, so practice runs do not end in game-over screens at all.
