What are the best pass the phone games?
The best pass the phone games have a one-sentence rule, turns under a minute, and a score everyone can see, so the phone moves before anyone gets bored. One-tap arcade games fit that perfectly: "tap to flip gravity" is the whole tutorial. Word, trivia and drawing apps work too, but they need more explaining and more quiet.
The table above is our honest shortlist of formats, built around Fluxo because we make it. The scoreboard below works with any game.

Who Fluxo is not for
- Groups who want everyone playing at once. This is turn-taking on one phone.
- People who get queasy from fast scrolling screens. Fluxo has reduced-effects and screen-shake toggles and honors iOS Reduce Motion, but the tunnel still moves.
- Anyone who hates ads. The free version has house-ad breaks; Remove Ads ($2.99) or the one-time Premium ($4.99) takes them away.
- Kids under about five, who may find the speed frustrating outside Zen mode.
How to run a pass the phone game, in 3 steps
- Pick the format. Use the situation buttons above. Agree the turn rule before the first tap.
- Say the one rule. "Tap to flip gravity. Don't hit anything." Fluxo's first run shows a TAP TO FLIP prompt anyway.
- Pass fast. PLAY AGAIN restarts instantly, so the next player starts without a trip to the menu. Write scores in the scoreboard.
Proof: what the phone shows during a turn

A Thanksgiving relay, Thursday November 26
Pie is gone and the adults are slowing down. Somebody says "who is good at phone games," and the phone ends up on the table. Six people, one run each, Classic mode. The ten-year-old posts 31 and gets cocky. Grandpa, who has never played, taps exactly when the spikes appear and squeaks past with 34. The rematch takes twenty minutes and nobody touches the dishes.
That is the whole appeal: no setup, no pieces under the couch, and a turn so short that waiting is part of the fun. One design decision we made helps here: the tunnel throws a new sector rule every 8 points, so a second-round run never feels like a replay.

Pass the phone game questions
What is a pass the phone game?
Any game where one phone goes around the group and each person takes a turn, usually one run or one round each, with the best score winning. One-tap arcade games work well because the rules fit in one sentence.
What are good pass the phone games for family gatherings?
Short-turn games with one simple control: one-tap runners, quick word or trivia apps, and drawing-and-guessing apps. Pick by group size: a high-score relay suits 3 to 8 people; charades-style apps shine with bigger, louder groups.
How do you make a phone game fair for different ages?
Give younger players more tries (best of three versus one), or let them play a gentler mode. In Fluxo, Zen mode has no wipeouts, so small kids can play a timed turn without crashing out.
Is Fluxo free?
Yes, the full game is free to play. The free version has house-ad breaks and optional watch-an-ad buttons for revives and double gold. Optional purchases are Starter Gold Pack ($0.99), Big Gold Pack ($2.99), Remove Ads ($2.99) and a one-time Premium ($4.99) with double gold, free revives, no ad breaks and the Golden Fluxo pilot.
Does Fluxo need Wi-Fi?
No. It needs no account, no login and no internet, so it works at a relative's house with no Wi-Fi password.
Can everyone play the same course?
Yes. The Daily Challenge is one fixed course per day, identical for every player on the same app version, so a family can compare scores on exactly the same run.
