What is Number Beasts: Bond Lab?
Number Beasts: Bond Lab is a turn-based number bonds game for iPhone where the number is the projectile: hit a beast and make exactly 10 to pop it. It is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. Fall short and the beast grows; overshoot and the leftover flies on to the next one. One launch can feed, pop and carry through several beasts, so every stage is a small plan.
Which number, which order, which angle. Nothing is random.
The four rules of the make-ten game
Bond
Make exactly 10 and the beast pops. 4 into a 6: gone.
Feed
Fall short and the beast grows. Now it needs a smaller number.
Bridge
Overshoot and the beast still pops; the leftover keeps flying. A 7 into a 5 sends a 2 onward.
Spill
A leftover that hits nothing falls back in as a new beast. Waste has a cost.
With aim assist on, the whole path and the exact sum (like BOND 4+6=10) appear before you press Launch. Switch it off for pure planning.
Three worlds, three rule sets

What is in the game
- 45 stages checked by a solver, so every one is winnable. Clear at or under par without help for three stars.
- Beast Workshop: build a board, press Prove, share it as a short code. No account or internet needed.
- Hero tools with a price: Bloop rewinds, Zappo nudges a number by one, Nimbus shows a winning move. Any tool caps you at two stars.
- Arcade mode: 36 real-time levels, seven beasts, three boss battles.
- Comfort: large numbers, tap-to-aim with route buttons, VoiceOver labels on every beast, Reduce Motion support, separate music and sound controls.
Our favorite design choice: the hero tools are always there, but they cost a star. A kid who is stuck never hits a wall, and a grown-up chasing three stars still has a reason to think it through.
Is it a good math game for kids?
For practicing number bonds to 10, yes; for a full math curriculum, no. Parents: there are no ads, no accounts, no tracking and no purchases to stumble into, and everything stays on the device. Younger children will want help reading the hints at first.
Pick something else if you want times tables drills, worksheets with progress reports for a teacher, or a game that plays itself. This one asks your child to plan.
Honest limits
- Focused on bonds to 10, with 15 and 20 in the last world.
- iPhone and iPad only.
- The listing describes no parent dashboard or school reports.
Questions parents and players ask
What is a number bond, and how does the game use it?
A number bond is a pair that makes a total, like 4 and 6 making 10. In Number Beasts each beast shows a number; launch the partner that makes exactly 10 and it pops. Later beasts in Chaos Laboratory need 15 or 20.
What happens if my number is too big or too small?
Too small and the beast is fed: it grows and now needs a smaller number. Too big and the beast still pops, and the leftover keeps flying into the next beast (a bridge). A leftover that hits nothing spills back in as a new beast.
Is Number Beasts free?
Yes. The listing says no ads, no accounts, no tracking and no in-app purchases, and the App Store page shows it as a free download.
What age is it for?
It is rated 4+ on the App Store. The make-ten idea suits early learners with an adult nearby, while the Chaos Laboratory stages with splitters and converters are real puzzles for older kids and adults.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Everything is stored on the device and the whole game works offline, including Daily Lab and sharing Workshop boards as codes.
Can I make my own levels?
Yes. The Beast Workshop lets you place beasts, stones, mirrors and splitters, then press Prove. The built-in solver only lets you save boards it can clear, and it sets par for you.
Is there a faster mode?
Yes. The real-time arcade has 36 levels, seven beasts and three boss battles, and a Bond Map tracks every number bond you play there.
